Taking the Land, Part 23

As we continue our study of the antichrist, let us always keep in mind that it is far more important to know what Christ is doing than what the antichrist is doing. At the same time that the antichrist is seeking to take over the world, the foundation for the kingdom is being laid that will prevail over it.

The New Leadership

As we studied last week, the Jordan River, which represents death, will be overflowing its banks “all the days of harvest” (John 3:15). At the same time, God’s people will be crossing over this death on dry land on the way to possessing their Promised Land. It is fundamental to God’s wisdom that we love life, the most precious gift of all, and that we are devoted to saving and preserving it in every way that we can.

The Shield

This week we continue our study on the armor of God in Ephesians 6:16:

in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to
extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Day 128 - Integrity

Recently, I felt compelled to read the memoirs of the Confederate General Robert E. Lee. He is considered to be one of the greatest military leaders of all time, as well as one of the most truly noble in character to have been produced by this country. In many ways, he demonstrated remarkable graciousness and nobility of character, which actually caused him to be almost as beloved in the North as he was in the South after the Civil War.

In the World, Not of the World—The Book of Revelation

The world has changed in profound ways from the time of the prophetic church of Pergamos. Even the forms of government are different. We still have many autocratic governments where power is centered in a strongman (or woman) and usually supported by an elite political class. We also have a number of more democratic governments. However, the issue of how governments and the church, or other religions, relate to each other remains.

Day 80 - The Power of Fellowship

Over the last few days we have been looking at Ephesians 4:11-16 because this is one of the most concise texts in the Bible on New Testament church life. A healthy church life is crucial for a healthy Christian life. When we were called by the Lord, it was to be a member of a body of believers that includes hundreds of millions of others around the world. We have also been joined to the historic church that includes all of the believers who have served the Lord for the last two thousand years.

Day 32 - Fear

And he (Adam) said, "I heard the sound of Thee in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself " (Genesis 3:10).

The first mention of fear in the Bible is in the above verse. There is a pure and holy fear of God, and there is an unholy fear. This is the unholy fear of God that leads to further corruption of the soul, and causes us to run from Him instead of to Him.

The Best Wine for Last- The Greatest Christian Life, Part 1

I am writing to those who I think will be among the greatest Christians to ever live—those who have lived in the last days of this age. As the Lord said, “the last shall be first” (see Mark 9:35), He has again saved His best wine for last—for those who live at the end of this age will be the best of all time. They will walk in the greatest glory and do the greatest works. There is no reason why any who are reading this cannot be part of the greatest spiritual force the world has ever seen.
