MorningStar Fellowship
Statement and Vision

Supernatural lives:
Jesus personally invited every believer to live an extraordinary life, doing extraordinary things like He did. This kind of living exceeds just being a good citizen or a church attendee. As representatives of heaven on the earth, the calling of every believer is to live with power, live in joy, with peace and righteousness, as ministers of a new covenant, touching other lives. The most exciting life on the planet is the one we can access as people who have been purchased out of sin and the dominion of darkness. A supernatural life awaits every Christian who chooses to believe and step out in faith, following the Son wherever He goes.

At MorningStar Fellowship, we endeavor to pursue Jesus with all of our hearts, provide equipping in the ways of God, worship Him with all of our might and learn to live like He lived. If you would like to join us, please know up front that it will not be comfortable or boring.

"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.” John 14:12

“For the kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power.” I Cor 4:20

“He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant-not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” 2 Cor 3:6

“For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” Col 1:13-14

Healthy people:
As we all are in the process of becoming mature believers, one of our primary goals as believers is to be transformed in our thinking, freed in our minds so that we begin to really look and act like Jesus. Jesus was the most healthy person to ever walk the earth and He has paved the way for us to be healthy as well by sending His Spirit to live inside of us, giving us renewed minds, spirits, souls and bodies. A healthy believer is one that isn’t always looking to receive or be fed, but is also looking for opportunities to reach out and minister and serve others. A healthy believer loves God with all of their heart and loves others just as much as they love themselves. One of the hopes for our fellowship is that we become a place where people can come as they are, be real, but also begin to change and grow more healthy every year - becoming people who know God personally, hear His voice, are healed of their past wounds, rely upon God as their source and are actively engaged in their calling and purpose in the earth. Our desire is for everyone in our fellowship to become what God intended them to become, doing all they were placed on the earth to do, fulfilling the will and plan of the King.

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;” John 10:27-29

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Rom 12:2

“As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” I Peter 4:10-11

Worshippers:

As we see from the scriptures, worship takes on many forms, and as children of the Creator we believe that we should be creative in all things, especially in the ways we worship God. We want to cultivate an atmosphere of liberty in our fellowship where people lavish on God corporately, while having a lifestyle of worship privately in everything we do Within the framework of liberty, we endeavor to participate in worship unhindered by self, using our voices, our bodies, art, sound, visual images, music and all of our hearts and lives as instruments of worship to Him in the way He deserves and enjoys. There are millions of new songs that have yet to be sung and millions of ways to worship the Creator of all things while we are here on the earth. Worship is what naturally emanates from all beings who behold God. With our spiritual eyes we desire to see Him, becoming worshippers in spirit and truth.

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” 2 Cor 3:17

"But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers." John 4:23-24

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-this is your spiritual act of worship.” Rom 12:1-2

Fellowship:
Half of our name is “Fellowship,” meaning that fellowship is central to who we are and what we do. We were created for fellowship with God and other people. Through our Life Groups, Ministry Teams , church picnics, serving together, and the meetings and events we attend together, our desire is that people would connect in a natural way, forming friendships, partnerships and relationships that grow stronger through the storms and celebrations of life. It is our desire that this “Fellowship” of believers become a place where the destinies of people collide, forming common purposes that build the Kingdom, change cities, and is a demonstration of the kind of love that makes the world come to Jesus.

"Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another." I John 4:11

"but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin." I John 1:7

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." John 13:34-35

Young People:

From infancy through adolescence, we desire to see our young people thriving and active in the Kingdom. Jesus said that every adult must be converted and become like a child to enter His Kingdom. This means that children are not only treasures for us to nurture and enjoy, but they are the one’s that will help us enter the kingdom ourselves. Our fellowship is committed to learning from our children, while at the same time, providing equipping and fun for them, along with giving them a place to minister themselves.
The supernatural is not just the domain in which we are called to live as adults, but our children and youth are also called to live there, captivated by Jesus, moving in His power and love. As a fellowship we endeavor to provide a safe environment where are children are kept physically safe, but given opportunities to step out in faith, exercising their gifts to serve others and explore the supernatural resources provided in the Spirit.

“Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one such child in My name receives Me;”

Matt 18:3-5

“ From the mouth of infants and nursing babes You have established strength because of Your adversaries, to make the enemy and the revengeful cease.” Psalms 8:2-3

“…and a little child will lead them.” Is 11:6

Identify Giftings:
Probably less than 5% of the body of Christ knows what their giftings are and what they are called to do. A part of functioning in the supernatural includes the pursuit of spiritual gifts as the Apostle Paul encouraged us to do. Our desire is to help everyone in our fellowship identify their calling and giftings, while also helping to provide clear pathways for them to begin to grow and exercise them. The body of Christ will abound with encouragement and be a refreshing spring of life to all who come near her when all believers zealously pursue and function in the gifts they have been given.

"Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy." I Cor 14:1

"So also you, since you are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek to abound for the edification of the church." I Cor 14:12

“ Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you;” 2 Peter 1:10

Equip:

The equipping of the Saints is clearly one of the primary purposes of Christian leadership. We view the body of Christ and those in our fellowship as ministers of the gospel, regardless of how long they have walked with the Lord. The moment we met Jesus, we became a minister of His gospel. Through teachings, guest speakers, special training times, SOS (School of the Spirit) services, Life Groups, Ministry Teams, and our Sunday services, we venture to provide a safe environment where people of every age are equipped and trained to do the work of the ministry. Our goal is to have everyone in our fellowship actively engaged in ministering to others in every segment and activity in life, becoming living stones that bring light and love wherever they are.

"And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ." Ephesians 4:11-14

Employ/Provide Opportunity:
To provide opportunities for people in this fellowship to serve in various ways, both inside and outside of the meetings. Through participation on prophetic teams, healing teams, children's ministry, help ministries, worship teams, evangelism teams, etc., we want to provide numerous avenues for people to serve one another.

"As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." I Peter 4:10

Touch our City/Community:
Through Outreach events, Ministry Teams, Life Groups, food distribution and compassionate action through our daily lives, we want to step outside of the four walls to be light and salt in the world. We want to have a living body that touches the city and community.
We believe that we are to play a part in the harvest of Winston-Salem. We desire to establish outreaches on the campuses of the city, and reach the lost wherever God sends us.

"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;" Matt 5:14

"And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." Mark 16:15-19
